Five Borough Parkstorming Tour

Printable flyer

On Saturday, August 13th we kicked off our exciting 5 Boro Parkstorming Tour!

Each week leading up to the primary, Parks1 will visit a different borough in order to bring attention to the needs of that borough's parks.

We believe that all parks in all neighborhoods throughout the entire city deserve attention and we're going to get candidates for elected office to believe it too.

If you have any questions about the tour, if you have any suggestions for locations, or if you want to help us make the tour a success, please do not hesitate to contact us! Or, you can post your suggestions below by clicking "comment on this."

We look forward to seeing you when the 5 Boro Parkstorming Tour comes to your neighborhood!

Yes, YS is on Parks department land. The newest proposal to build a "new" YS includes plans to take over much more parks space that is currently utilized by the community on a regular basis. The plan includes uprooting numerous trees in an area that currently has an unusually high rate of asthma sufferers. The promise is to build more parks AFTER THE STADIUM IS COMPLETED!!! How long will this take? The "new" parks are scheduled to built on top of parking garages, over the Major Deegan Highway and railroad tracks. Although the Yankees promise to pay for the building of the new stadium, all infrastructure costs will be borne by taxpayers. No money for parks construction has been allocated.
We love our parks and object strenously to the removal of parks to build 14 story - high walls and 4 more garages (read pollution) across the street from residentail buildings, picnic areas, swimming pool and skateboard park!
